Sujok

Sujok Therapy is a holistic healing method that stimulates specific pressure points on the hands and feet to treat and balance the entire body. The word “Sujok” comes from Korean — “Su” meaning hand and “Jok” meaning foot.

Developed by South Korean professor Park Jae-woo, Sujok therapy is based on the principle that the hands and feet contain miniature representations of all body organs and systems. By stimulating these points, the body’s natural healing ability is activated.

How Does Sujok Therapy Work?

Sujok therapy works on the concept of correspondence systems. Specific points on the hands and feet correspond to:

  • Internal organs

  • Muscles and joints

  • Spine

  • Nervous system

During a session:

  • The therapist identifies sensitive correspondence points.

  • Gentle pressure, seeds, magnets, or small therapeutic tools may be applied.

  • In some cases, tiny sterile needles are used (if appropriate).

  • Sessions typically last 30–60 minutes.

The stimulation encourages energy balance and improved circulation throughout the body.

Types of Sujok Techniques

1. Acupressure Technique
Manual pressure applied to specific hand or foot points.

2. Seed Therapy
Natural seeds are taped onto specific points to provide continuous stimulation.

3. Magnet Therapy
Small magnets are placed to enhance energy flow.

4. Micro-Needle Therapy
Very fine needles are used to stimulate targeted points (performed hygienically and safely).
